  • Experience with cloud-based storage solutions such as Amazon S3 or Snowflake

  • CI/CD pipelines – CloudBees/Jenkins
  • Microservices & SaaS
  • Infrastructure as Code – Terraform
  • AWS experience

What the job involves

  • You’ll be joining the newly formed Privileged Endpoint team, which is building an Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) product. EPM is used by company IT admins to control what applications and processes end users can run on their work devices
  • It does this by allowing or blocking each action based on company policy. The product will contain a set of cloud-based microservices with a UI where IT admins can create the rules for this company policy
  • The team is fully remote, UK-based, and, as a small team, you will be a key contributor
  • In a typical day you’ll be leading the implementation of the backend of the cloud-based services for the new product
  • This will include implementing logic for the API endpoints in Golang, such as operations on EPM policy information, EPM audit data, and logs
  • You’ll also work on the cloud-based storage mechanisms for EPM to store and process large amounts of policy and audit data
  • You’ll work closely with the rest of the EPM team so that the cloud backend is able to communicate with users’ work devices via HTTPS, and with teams working on existing microservices in the wider SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) platform to integrate EPM functionality into the wider product
  • In 90 days, you’ll be on-boarded and starting to lead the implementation of the cloud backend
  • In 6 months, you’ll be operating with a high degree of autonomy in several areas, such as the microservices, cloud storage, and Kafka streams
  • In 1 year, you’ll be the Subject Matter Expert on EPM cloud and able to run projects as the team grows
  • Ownership of backend areas of the cloud code base
  • Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements
  • Deliver efficient, maintainable, robust features written primarily using Golang
  • Design and implement systems to process vast amounts of user and policy data and store/query this information as needed using cloud storage
  • Proactively collaborate on, discuss and refine ideas, problem statements, and software designs with different (sometimes many) stakeholders, architects and members of your team
  • Collaborate with peers on designs, code reviews, and testing
  • Serve as a mentor to other engineers in the team and help them develop good technical principles and discipline

Our take

SailPoint is a leader in identity management, founded in 2005 to help businesses mitigate security risks. The company went public in 2017 and was acquired by Thoma Bravo in 2022.

SailPoint’s products harness AI and machine learning to automate and streamline identity management, appointing the appropriate access to different identities operating in a business. Its solutions have evolved alongside innovations in the space, and the company remains a top choice for enterprises worldwide.

To continue keeping pace with advancements in the market, SailPoint has acquired identity solutions startup SecZetta. With this move, SailPoint says it will be able to further help its clients consolidate their identities and organize their workforce data. The company also partnered with Simeio, a leading provider of Identity and Access Management services, to enhance both companies’ security capabilities and protection measures.
