- 10+ years of industry experience
- You have at least 3 years experience in an engineering management role
- Prior experience in distributed systems & Event Processing systems
- Experience building highly available, scalable and reliable platforms
- Experience running teams owning tier 0 or mission critical services
- Distributed systems & API design
- Kotlin, gRPC, REST, Kubernetes & AWS
- Event processing: Apache Kafka, Cadence & Apache Flink
- Experienced with scaling systems using Cassandra, PostgreSQL & Redis

- As the manager responsible for the Order Checkout and Post Checkout teams, you will be driving the technical vision and execution of the teams and also lead the evolution of the platform to be world-class, reliable, highly available, and easily extensible
- You will lead teams owning a mission-critical platform which is core to DoorDash and where reliability is paramount
- Lead the evolution of the platform to become world class, enabling fast product development
- Extend platform’s offering to power more complex functionalities for a wide variety of products/businesses
- Inspire your team with your technical vision and create alignment necessary to execute on it
- Recruit and retain talented software engineers working across different disciplines
- Rolling up your sleeves with hands on problem solving when necessary
- Coaching, mentoring and providing career guidance to managers and senior ICs

DoorDash was an early entrant into the last-mile restaurant delivery business, which is now crowded with the likes of Uber Eats, Postmates and GrubHub. They offer restaurants an end-to-end delivery platform, generating new business and access to a network of delivery drivers.
To differentiate itself in the market, DoorDash focused on areas with fewer competitors and found success in this untapped market. Other factors, such as the company's targeting of restaurants which many not typically offer a delivery service, also contribute to its profitability. The company made its stock market debut in 2020 with one of the biggest IPOs of the year.
However, in light of increasing discontent around DoorDash's commission structure from restaurants, competition remains fierce. The business recently responded by publishing a transparent fee structure, but the number of options open to restaurants means DoorDash must fight to keep its customers loyal. Despite this, by focusing on consumer retention, logistics and technology, the company is likely able to maintain its existing growth and revenue.
