What the job involves

  • This role offers the opportunity to support all aspects of the Mastercard account development function for the HSBC account on a Global basis
  • This will range from setting the innovation agenda, thought leadership, opportunity development to proposition development, financial business case, deal negotiation and closure, agreement development and execution
  • Driving thought leadership with HSBC and across the global account team including production of the quarterly newsletter, HSBC executive briefings, engagement plans, competitive landscape analysis, Voice of the customer consolidation/action plans and earnings briefings
  • Driving team initiatives such as best practice learning and sharing, team activities, global account team communication and coordination of team quarterly reviews
  • Supporting the account team to drive new businesses and partnerships across the retail banking by developing relationships across both Mastercard and HSBC teams. Special focus will be in supporting the launches of new affluent CVPs for the Premier and Private Banking credit card global program, working with product, loyalty/services and marketing
  • Resource will also need to work providing input and coordination on legal commercial agreements like CBAs/SOWs and adoptions forms
  • Help drive the sales and implementation process to analyse and introduce new business opportunities to members that will lead to increased volume, volume share and market share for Mastercard
  • Liaising with regional Account leads and Finance constituents to help build and seek approval winning business models and proposals and analytical support to team
  • Develop as well as manage relationships between internal Mastercard partners including business development, marketing, commerce development, customer delivery, product, Advisors, legal, compliance, security, etc. to ensure cross-functional alignment and correct support for the customer
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio growth and optimization by using data tools and knowledge of customer, deliver the opportunities to the customer and devise plans for implementation, and, with the customer, execute on the plans
  • Partnering and supporting the Global Business Development Lead to quantify complex business opportunities, pricing strategies and negotiation for deal opportunities
  • Build relationships and partner with internal stakeholders across various functional teams to identify new segments to maximise penetration and product opportunities including potential development of new propositions in close collaboration with the Global Business Development Lead
  • Perform market research and opportunity assessments on new concepts and ideas. Assess the viability of new products in support of the global/regional or market strategies
