Who you are

  • You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you are empowered to own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your team as you focus on outcomes over outputs
  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Experience working in B2C e-commerce and/or marketplace
  • Ad-tech and Mar-tech experience is a plus
  • Have a natural curiosity for product, data, technology, and lending
  • Truth seeking, taking responsibility for the performance of the product, leading with transparency and honesty
  • Confident with evaluating, and synthesising data (analytics, customer feedback, industry trends) and ideas, and expressing it in coherent and understandable manner
  • Are effective at influencing leaders and executives and empowering teams
  • Customer obsessed, always asking whether what we intend to build will solve the customers problem
  • Ruthlessly prioritises to focus on delivering high quality work fast
  • Are aA clear and concise communicator, great at building relationships and empathising with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Accountable as an owner of the outcomes of a product area with clarity on decision making

Desirable

What the job involves

  • As a Product Manager at Zilch, you will have a passion for financial inclusion and a deep interest in solving problems in ways that achieve business objectives and exceed customers’ expectations
  • Our Product Managers are champion problem solvers, who fall in love with problems before discovering usable, viable and feasible ways to solve customer problems
  • We believe product development is a team sport, so we want people who thrive in working closely with other team members to build solutions with confidence
  • You will be part of an autonomous, cross-functional product team working with designers, engineering manager, engineers, and data analysts
  • You will also work closely with our Purchase product team who looks after our Zilch checkout journey
  • You will proactively identify opportunities to improve our customers shopping journey whilst creating value for merchants
  • You will own the product roadmap for your own area and work with stakeholders across the organisation to formulate your product strategy
  • Work with your cross-functional team to solve customer problems in an innovative way
  • You will work with your team and stakeholders to determine your team’s KPIs and achieve your targets
  • You will be responsible for making sure the product shipped delivers value in a viable way for our business
  • You will be building strong relationships with external partners to create joint roadmaps and manage delivery of strategic initiatives throughout
  • At Zilch, we are customer obsessed, you will be speaking to customers (and stakeholders) early and often to empathise with their biggest problems and create experiments to solve those problems
  • Product Managers at Zilch should have a combination of deep knowledge of the customer, the data, the industry, our strategy, our business model, compliance and risk constraints and our desired outcome along with a sense of true ownership of the product area they are managing
  • You will make sure that the product team is always working on the most valuable initiatives for our customers and Zilch by managing the backlog, leading refinement sessions and actively participating in team ceremonies

Zilch provides a buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) product that allows customers to purchase their desired items and pay in instalments for them. According to Zilch, its service helps customers save over £350 per year on interest and fees.

Having received consumer credit authorisation from the FCA, Zilch partnered with Mastercard to ensure its users can enjoy the safety provided by the global payments company while shopping online. Its business model involves providing the service for free to customers and charging partner stores a fee for every purchase made with Zilch. If users are not buying from partner stores, Zilch charges users a fee but guarantees that they will know from the beginning exactly how much they need to repay, hence assuring users they will not have to pay hidden fees.

With soaring demand for BNPL services, Zilch's main priority is to capitalise on this opportunity. As part of this initiative, the company has maintained an impressive funding strategy. After a series of successful raises, Zilch is now valued at around $2 billion. This has lent the company considerable weight, helping to accelerate its expansion of efforts in existing markets and expand into new ones such as the US.
