Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience devising strategies to manage risks, P&L and optimising FX and short-term interest rates, ideally with good working knowledge of card schemes and the Payments industry
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills working with a variety of stakeholders, including product managers and clients, be well-organized, adaptable to the changing demands of the role, and capable of independently working toward specific goals!
  • The ideal candidate has a positive hands-on and can-do-attitude, willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 10-15+ years track record of managing and optimising FX and short-term interest rates in an international setup
  • Experience with card schemes and Payments (Acquiring/Issuing) and is preferred
  • Experience working with a multitude of partners, including senior management, product managers, sales and clients
  • Experience with setting up frameworks and building capabilities from scratch, including financial modelling and P&L and risk analytics
  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker with strong ideas and foresight
  • Attention to detail and keen on working in a fast paced environment

What the job involves

  • Due to increasing complexity and importance of Treasury Markets/FX topics, Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and self-motivated Senior Manager or Director-level Head of Treasury Markets/FX to own the Treasury strategy to manage and optimise key market risks, in particular FX risks, and its excess liquidity and funding strategy
  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Treasury for APAC and MENA
  • Provide strategy, direction, and oversight to measure, monitor and optimise our key market risks, in particular FX risks
  • Co-own FX-linked product strategy with our Product teams and optimise setup with card schemes and Alternative Payment Method (APM) partners to optimise FX P&L, risks and client experience
  • Build out market-facing and execution capabilities by working with counterparties to broaden FX capabilities and diversify counterparties, negotiate and set up credit lines and funding facilities
  • Define and implement excess liquidity investment strategy, optimising the balance between investment returns, liquidity and business needs, and build out execution capabilities
  • Implement and execute hedging/trading strategies, supporting management of cash flows by currency
  • Design and build MI and market risk reports, procedures and controls to report and manage market risks
  • Present on Treasury Markets/FX topics to key senior committees
