Who you are

  • The ideal candidate is a hands-on self-starter with strong financial modeling, analytics, and communication skills
  • You will have experience with high-growth SaaS companies and leverage an in depth understanding of standard SaaS metrics to help the organization grow efficiently
  • You must have high integrity and an ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance in an FP&A role in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Works comfortably with incomplete information and deals with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
  • Adaptive Planning or Drivetrain experience a plus
  • CPA or CFA a plus

What the job involves

  • As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and reporting the company’s corporate financial statements and ad-hoc financial metrics, budgets, and forecasts
  • You will report to a Sr Manager of FP&A to collaborate with key stakeholders to drive critical business outcomes
  • This role will sit at the intersection of Board / investor reporting & internal execution of the company’s financial objectives

  • Prepare management reports, Board presentations, and other financial reports with high level of accuracy
  • Set & manage the calendar operating plan and monthly close process for the rest of the FP&A team in conjunction with the VP & Sr. Manager of FP&A
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, particularly around headcount planning & expense management, to improve processes and forecasting accuracy
  • Prepare, analyze, and report key financial and operating metrics as part of our annual operating plan and reforecasting process
  • Identify trends, track progress, make recommendations on areas for operating efficiency improvement
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support various business initiatives and special projects
  • Gather information and data from various systems, reporting tools, and people. Ability to bring those data points together in a meaningful way to provide granular insight into the various models
  • In coordination with above tasks, enhance the implementation of financial planning and data systems

Our take

Businesses have increasingly been taking advantage of AI systems to process the vast amont of data they hold and produce, but the rapidity and sheer volume of AI data requests puts a significant load on company infrastructure. Redis, a database-as-a-service provider, exists to ease this strain, managing databases for business-critical applications with its cloud-based data platform.

This isn't a new industry and Redis faces competition from mainstays of the sector such as Oracle and Microsoft. However Redis stands out with its speed, cutting the database response time to less than a millisecond, easily outstripping its competitors. Founded in 2011, it is now the most popular database on AWS and is used by around 25% of professional developers. It counts Microsoft, Plaid, FedEx and many other enterprise companies as customers.

Redis plans to expand into emerging markets and sees the adoption of cloud-native systems by the world's biggest companies as inevitable. It has forged partnerships with Amazon and Google and is growing through acquisition, for instance in its 2022 purchase of RESP.app which served part of its growing ecosystem.
