Role

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience developing content creation tools and workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Python
  • Experience with DCCs such as Houdini, Maya
  • Knowledge of content creation (e.g. modeling, shading) and software engineering best practices (e.g. design patterns, object-oriented design)
  • Experience creating and developing unit tests
  • Experience creating comprehensive user documentation

Desirable

  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, etc
  • Experience with UI/UX patterns and workflows
  • Experience using USD-based workflows and Git

  • The Tools and Technology Team is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality
  • Our group strives to build an ecosystem of modular components that are efficient, adjustable to trends, and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality. We partner with a global group of extraordinary creatives fueled by imagination and a unified passion for creating amazing content and experiences
  • As a Software Engineer II , you will support our Foundations and Tech Excellence pillar by utilizing a broad skillset to upgrade, extend, and support a variety of EA’s crucial content tools
  • You will partner with a Product Owner and Technical Director and collaborate with a talented development team. You will report to a Development Director
  • Identify and solve complex, systematic problems in the domain of tools, pipeline, and workflow development
  • Partner with artists and engineers to develop user-friendly tools, efficient pipelines, and optimized workflows that aid in the development and iteration of game content
  • Gather user requirements, design, implement, debug, test, and maintain quality code
  • Optimize existing codebases and workflows
  • Collaborate with our QA team to create and strengthen unit testing workflows
