Role

Who you are

  • 10+ years of data science, machine learning, or statistical modeling experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience implementing theoretical models in an applied environment
  • M.S. or PhD. in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, or other quantitative field
  • Strong interest in delivering data-driven solutions using ML and AI
  • Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software
  • Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, operations research, and causal inference. Knowledge of NLP or Bayesian testing is a plus
  • Insatiable curiosity and bias toward action
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing data science teams

  • Aircall is seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Data Science to lead our data team and drive impactful initiatives across data science, analytics, and data engineering.
  • In this pivotal role, you will shape our vision and strategy for leveraging data to optimize operations and drive business success.
  • You will oversee the entire lifecycle of data projects from ideation to production and continuous improvement, and play a critical role in building and growing a world-class data team
  • Define and execute Aircall’s data strategy, aligning it with organizational goals
  • Lead groundbreaking projects that leverage AI, machine learning, analytics, and data engineering techniques to optimize operations and drive business success
  • Take ownership of the entire lifecycle from model design, training, productionization, and incremental enhancement
  • Foster a culture of experimentation by designing and scaling rigorous A/B tests to measure business impact
  • Educate teams on current and emerging research, technologies, and best practices for leveraging ML, AI, and advanced analytics in product design and development
  • Collaborate with data engineering and AI Platform teams to identify upcoming requirements and continuously evolve our data platform offering
  • Establish best practices in data science, analytics, and data engineering, and mentor future team members to maintain high standards in data governance and insight generation
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across various technical levels, articulating insights and recommendations about your solutions
  • Cultivate trust with stakeholders by consistently addressing their true fundamental needs and challenges

Our take

Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall exists to change that, providing a cloud-based call centre infrastructure that allows sales teams to work from their home offices.

Aircall isn't the only company in this space, and it faces heavy competition from Cloudtalk, another cloud-based call centre solution. However Aircall stands out in the market by its use of open APIs and webhooks, making integration with existing productivity and helpdesk tools much easier, and its superior call quality. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 15,000 companies using its platform.

The company has raised significant funding in recent years, highlighting the confidence investors have in their offering. With a rapidly expanding presence in the US, European, UK and Australian markets and recent refresher leadership hires, Aircall could soon be a widely recognised international player in the telephone software industry.
