Who you are
- Expert knowledge of Android system, best practices, and material design guidelines
- Expertise in Kotlin and Kotlin coroutines
- Published apps to the play store
- Familiarity with Compose UIExperience with GraphQL development preferred
- Github actions experience is a plus
- Any iOS/Swift experience is a plus
- Experience with React Native is a plus
- Experience with Ruby and backend development is a plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Android engineer to join our mobile development team. As an early member of the team you will have the opportunity to shape our Android technical strategy and help to build out new features and whole applications in the ezCater ecosystem
- Support the ezCater Marketplace and Relish Android app for office meal delivery
- Develop additional Android apps for our customers and catering partners to open up new growth opportunities for ezCater
- Collaborate directly with Design, Product, and Analytics to craft high quality Android apps
- Work with backend developers to create solid interfaces that serve the needs of our native applications
- Help to build a robust mobile team
Our take
ezCater is an online marketplace app that provides catering options for businesses, working with food providers who enter their menus onto the app for customers to browse. ezCater sends each store its orders and handles customer service whilst the food providers fulfill the orders.
ezCater profits by charging a small commission on all orders that restaurants fulfill. The company counts JLL, RingCentral and the San Francisco 49ers among its customers. It previously fuelled expansion through acquisitions such as online catering platform GoCater in 2018 and MonkeySoft Solutions in 2019.
ezCater has enjoyed strong growth so far, in part by focusing on meal deliveries to a growing hybrid workforce as an employee benefit. It has been eyeing an IPO for some time, though these plans are yet to come to fruition. In the meantime, it has continued to develop its technology and unveiled a new supplier diversity program to uplift small businesses owned by underrepresented groups.
