Company mission

We’re on a mission. And it’s money without borders. Instant, convenient, transparent and — eventually — free.

Role

Who you are

  • You are a seasoned product manager with strong technical competence, a track record of navigating complex and ambiguous environments, and ability to prioritise across multiple problem spaces
  • You have successfully built and launched billing and pricing systems in complex high-volume organisations
  • Experienced in working with engineers and are enthusiastic about complex technical and analytical challenges
  • You’re hands on, don’t stick to a “by the book” product management role definition, and you’d do everything needed to make the team and the product successful
  • You are a empathetic communicator who’s great at conveying complex ideas in a clear and understandable way

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Pricing team in London
  • You will lead the Pricing Platform team and develop the core pricing systems across fee, tax and discount domains across Wise and Wise Platform
  • You will be responsible for the evolution of the key technical services that power the financial engine of Wise
  • You’ll be responsible for the technical infrastructure that powers all of Wise’s pricing, tax and discount calculations
  • You’ll develop the next generation of the billing engine for the rapidly growing Wise Platform - our fast, proven, global payments infrastructure
  • You’ll lead highly impactful initiatives to enhance our tax infrastructure globally and across all of Wise products
  • You’ll work with the Pricing Platform team to define the long-term vision for the pricing infrastructure to support the fast growth and increasing complexity of Wise
  • You’ll partner with our Finance, Tax, Pricing and Product teams to continually evolve our microservices to serve the business needs
  • Impact every Wise customer, as your work will play a critical role in developing the core of the Wise financial engine
  • Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously
  • So rather than telling you what to do, you’ll collaborate with your team to create a vision of your own. Of course, you can always gather feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll have the freedom to make your own calls
  • Grow professionally as a product manager and a leader
  • You will cooperate with multiple cross-functional teams across Wise and get to work on highly impactful and technically challenging projects

Salary benchmarks

Our take

Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.

Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. They've attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.

The challenge for Wise will be maintaining their edge and brand power in a market that's becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants (like Revolut and Monzo) and incumbents (traditional banks) trying to catch up. To do so, the company is ramping up its digital and marketing strategies, as well as pushing for further development of its existing products.
