Who you are

  • Engineering degree in Computer Science (or related field)

What the job involves

  • Outsight’s software solutions track the motion of people and vehicles using 3D LiDAR data
  • Develop a clear and concise product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals
  • This product vision and strategy must clearly define what are the overall goals of the product, what are the users of the product, what problems (and use cases) it is trying to solve, what are the target customers’ needs, and how it compares/differentiates from other alternatives available on the market, and what are the suitable route to market
  • Acquire an in-depth comprehension of customer's needs and requirements in order to create a successful product
  • The product manager maintains close relationships with the marketing and sales team in order to coordinate the gathering of customer feedback and to participate in customer meetings and specialized events
  • Prioritize features and requirements through an up-to-date Product Roadmap (incl. non-functional requirements such as performance, security, scalability and costs of ownership) according to the user-journey description, business needs, and technical feasibility
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure the product releases are developed in accordance with the required specifications and features
  • Take ownership and orchestrate the promotion and support of use cases provided by their product portfolio along Outsight’s maturity framework
  • Product managers work closely with marketing, product marketing, sales and deployment team to ensure that they have all required resources and support to meet their business objectives (incl. goal sales and project execution)
  • Be responsible for measuring and analyzing the launched product’s performance (incl. business performance and customer satisfaction). This includes tracking metrics across marketing, sales, integration and support
  • The product manager uses this data to identify areas for improvement and to make decisions about future product development

Our take

Outsight has combined the software assets of its parent company Dibotics with 3D sensor technology to create a LiDAR pre-processor designed to help make smarter, safer vehicles, and add spatial AI to buildings like stores and airports. Importantly, however, Outsight’s business model is focused on providing a simpler plug-and-play LiDAR solution, to close the gap between LiDAR early adopters and the mainstream market.

Helping more companies easily tap into LiDAR’s full situational awareness capabilities in our growing network of interconnected, smart environments is likely to prove a winning strategy for Outsight going forward. Outsight has already proven attractive to international clients across a number of highly lucrative fields including industrial automation, driverless cars, and drones.

Outsight has carved out a niche for itself, attracting a solid client base as the industry embraces new technologies. In a significant development, the company was acquired by Billups, a leading NYC-based OOH managed services agency, in a deal that expanded Billups' global presence to 16 countries. This acquisition strengthens Outsight's industrial edge and cloud application offerings, opening up exciting new opportunities for growth nad innovation within the company.
