Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Previous experience managing and developing a team
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial documents and contracts
- Ability to think outside the box and be nimble
- Deadline driven and an ability to prioritize tasks
- MS Office/Google Workspace skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Netsuite experience (preferred) or other accounting ERP experience
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
What the job involves
- Saronic is looking for an exceptional accounting manager to join the accounting and finance team supporting Saronic’s rapid growth
- You will be responsible for managing multiple general ledger functions, closing the books and preparing financial statements and developing staff members
- You will also work closely with members of the accounting team and the business to improve cross-functional processes and the related system solutions
- You will be an instrumental part of creating and maintaining the policies and procedures needed to scale our organization
- This is a full-time role, reporting to our Corporate Controller, based in our office in Austin, Texas
- Oversee day-to-day operations and close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement variance analysis and monthly internal and external financial reporting
- Manage end to end processes, ensuring proper transactional accounting as well as system solutioning to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Work with Controller on various technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, inventory valuation and equity accounting
- Assist with ERP implementation and adoption
- Collaborate on the development of policies and procedures as we scale our organization
- Manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines and maintain attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and build strong cross-functional relationships across the organization
Our take
Unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) are vehicles which operate at the surface of the water without a crew and can be used in oceanography and environmental monitoring, as well as for cargo transport or military applications. Saronic is a company developing USVs to have enhanced awareness and improved survivability, to be employed in maritime security.
Saronic's vehicles are designed to be smarter than previous models, with capabilities including adaptive path planning, multichannel communication, and the ability to better identify and track targets through a combination of passive sensors and advanced algorithms. The company has raised significant funding that will be used to accelerate R&D as it expands manufacturing capacity in anticipation of demand for rapid production in the future.
