What the job involves

  • Amazon EU Apprenticeships is looking for a Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, and cross-functional projects and programs
  • This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to stakeholders and senior management on status, risks, and process changes
  • Cross-team coordination, project/program management, analytical, problem solving and executive presentation skills are essential
  • Lead regular planning and management meetings with training providers regarding program recruitment needs, and general operations management
  • Track, analyze, and report programmatic data and outcomes related to training providers’ performance and apprentices’ retention
  • Gathering and analyzing data across apprenticeship schemes and cohorts
  • Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including industry partnerships, training providers, business sponsors, and other Apprenticeships teams to ensure program success
  • Conduct quality assurance on all programs to ensure compliance with government and business requirements and satisfaction of apprentices
  • Ensure training programs are responsive to Amazon’s workforce needs and provide viable career opportunities for apprentices
  • Management of program budget
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and innovating/implementing projects to enhance apprentice experience
  • Leading complex EU-wide and scheme-wide projects and initiatives to increase internal team processes and customer experience
  • Designing new processes and programs to support the future state of the business
  • An Apprenticeships Program Mgr will communicate on a daily basis with apprentices and their line managers, responding to queries, supporting with program topics and issues, and providing guidance/advice
  • They will also monitor key program metrics (e.g. apprentice satisfaction rates, graduation rates, attrition rates) to ensure optimal customer (apprentice and business) experience
  • In addition, the Apprenticeships Program Mgr will work (often with other members of the EU Apprenticeships team) to deliver projects which benefit the internal team and or/the wider business
  • Decision-making, problem solving, and change management also form key parts of the role
  • The EU Apprenticeships team manages apprenticeship programs for Amazon operational business lines across nine European countries (and growing)
  • The team sits within a wider Learning and Development team that supports customer fulfillment operations including the design of training content, delivery of training and coaching to employees, and the tracking of metrics
  • This particular role sits within the UK arm of the EU Apprenticeships team with a particular focus on programs in the UK and Ireland; however, collaboration with other Apprenticeships teams (e.g. in Germany, Italy, France) will be an important aspect of the job
