Who you are

  • 2-3 years of experience in sales or business development in a startup sales motion (experience in hotels a plus+)
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota on a consistent basis
  • Strong presentation and listening skills: comfortable presenting and negotiating with senior executives (C-level)
  • The ability to shift from strategic thinking to rolling up your sleeves and supporting implementation
  • Ability to travel for meetings, conferences and industry events if needed
  • Strong ability to build external champions across a diverse stakeholder pool
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible with changing direction of business
  • Above all, the ideal candidate will have strong resilience, resourcefulness, and grit!

What the job involves

  • Outreaching prospects with multiple touchpoints across channels, with a focus on cold-calling
  • Developing and executing a robust lead-sourcing strategy, diversifying your prospect base, and maintaining consistent activity levels
  • Building and managing your own pipeline, from prospecting to closing and account management, maximising adoption
  • Orchestrating customer relationships with Shackle internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth experience from getting started to daily usage
  • Being highly autonomous in the role on how to effectively balance your time (prospect vs. close) to activate internal resources or engage your team
  • Using solution-based selling to understand customer needs and communicate the value proposition
  • Becoming a product expert on Shackle Business, its market positioning, and the solutions it offers, backed by relevant, compelling case studies
  • Maintaining a close relationship with the product & tech team to streamline the voice of the customer & market feedback into the product roadmap

For a hotel stayer it’s abundantly clear that customer service and care should be the utmost priority for staff, as that’s what the hotel experience is. It’s generally accepted that check-in/out is always a bit long winded, room mess-ups can occur on top of many other things during hotel stays. Shackle is stepping onto the scene with its “hotel app” which hopes to digitise the entire guest experience.

Some might find reducing touch points a bit of a shame given that traditional interactions with hotel staff is all part of the experience. But the advantages seem clear - the app contains features from automatic check-in/out to keyless room entry and room-services options, streamlining the entire stay.

It’s clear the application and service is well made and trusted by leading hotels already. With a recent round of funding, the company wishes to continue to advance its solution and double the number of partners. Considering the app is still fairly new and being rolled out within partnered hotels, it will be interesting to hear the customer experience feedback and gauge how the company will look to scale.
