Who you are

  • 10+ years experience in supporting and reviewing marketing assets with respect to regulatory requirements in a bank or financial technology company
  • Expertise in consumer financial protections requirements (Reg DD, Reg Z, fair lending, privacy, UDAAP, etc.) and developing training materials to instruct stakeholders on applicable requirements
  • Provide actionable recommendations and solutions to problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas in understandable and effective ways to different audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding senior management, Product and Marketing teams and ensuring high quality, consistent, compliant outcomes
  • Affinity for a fast-paced environment and have a bias toward taking action
  • Knowledge of FINRA and SEC advertising/marketing rules is a plus

What the job involves

  • As a Marketing Compliance Manager, your mandate is to help deliver consumer friendly marketing assets that meet compliance requirements
  • This role will impact One’s vision by ensuring One continues to provide a best in class consumer experience while evidencing compliance with applicable requirements
  • You will work closely with the Legal and Compliance, Marketing, Product and Design team(s) working on One’s product and marketing programs
  • This role reports to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer
  • Review marketing assets and strategies and provide guidance to the Product, Design and Marketing teams on applicable requirements and solutions
  • Review and approve marketing and advertising materials in a timely manner for the marketing team on a daily basis
  • Coordinate with bank partner stakeholders and develop compliant solutions meeting multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Develop controls and provide guidance with respect to regulatory requirements for scaling compliant marketing functions
  • Monitor marketing assets and claims and ensure One continues to meet its regulatory requirements
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on complex requests driving consistent, compliant resolution
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Bank Partner to evidence One’s compliance with applicable requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned by your manager

Our take

Banks have a poor image and are often perceived to not care about their customers. ONE Finance has the financial well-being of its clients at the heart of what it does. Offering equal access to high-yield savings rates and affordable credit that grows. Its signature feature is the ability to organize money in multiple sub-accounts that ONE calls “Pockets,” whether to pay specific bills or save toward goals. You can also set up shared “Pockets” with partners or friends for joint saving objectives.

ONE is part of a new wave of digital banking apps that have the potential to disrupt traditional legacy systems, driven by European firms such as Triodos in the Netherlands. ONE Finance is clear that it doesn’t use deposits for anything that exploits the Earth's resources or is involved in the arms trade, setting it apart from other recent endeavours from Monzo and Revolut who aren’t so forthcoming about where its funds are invested.

In 2022, ONE was acquired by Hazel, a FinTech company which was launched by Walmart and Ribbit Capital and which also acquired Even Responsible Finance at the same time. The companies have merged under the ONE brand, combining workforces, products and operating budgets, and will benefit from Walmart's support and marketing reach.
