Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a skilled and driven Intern to join the finance team at Vay
- Currently undergoing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field or a successfully completed training program in business administration
- Good Excel skills
- Experience in Datev, Pleo, Candis or other digital finance tools is a plus
- Prior internship experience in Finance / Accounting is a plus
- Motivated, high-energetic and hands-on mentality
- Team player
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluent in German and English
What the job involves
- This is a perfect opportunity to kick-start your career and learn from scratch. As part of our team, you will support all processes related to month-end-closing and accounting with the team and our external tax advisors
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, across business and engineering, to ensure smooth processes, payments and reconciliations
- Accounting
- Accounts payable and supplier payment run support

- Annual closing and audit assistance
- Reimbursement Management
- Checking daily allowances and other out-of-pocket expenses
- Exchange with internal stakeholders to ensure internal controls are met

Our take
Driverless cars are often considered as the future of transport, but the AI-driven innovation is not yet powerful and safe enough to be made publically available. Furthermore, it is anticipated that many people would not trust AI-driven driverless cars regardless of their state of development, preferring to know that a human is behind the wheel.
Vay develops autonomous driving hardware powered by "teledriving", a system in which cars are driven remotely by humans. The German company will begin by providing orderable cars that can be driven manually by the customer but parked remotely by Vay staff, with future use cases including full remote rides, ride-sharing, last-mile delivery, and public transport.
Whilst other companies such as Mobileye have made plans to provide driverless cars to German cities, Vay is standing out with its unique focus on the trust of teledriving. Furthermore, the initial focus on autonomous parking will greatly speed up rollout and give the company a competitive edge.
