Who you are
- Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience with fast-paced monthly close operations, the ability and desire to wear many hats, and efficiently communicate across all levels and functions of the organization
- Self starter with high motivation, the ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage workload
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong customer focus and a service minded attitude
- Must be detail oriented, able to solve problems and multitask
- Passion in process improvement and automation
- Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft with a strong emphasis on Excel is a must
- BS in Accounting degree and CPA license preferred
- Minimum 6 years of experience in an Accounting role, operational and Big 4 accounting experience preferred
- Experience in the technology sector or a similar fast-paced industry is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team!
- Reporting to our Sr. Manager, Accounting, this is an opportunity to join a fast growing startup and play a driving role in our accounting and financial operations
- This role is pivotal to ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process in the general ledger function, with a focus in areas such as cash and investments, long-lived assets, deferred commissions, credit card transactions, vendor accruals and payroll accounting, etc., ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely manner
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify and resolve issues or discrepancies that arise during the closing process
- Provide guidance and training to accounting staff and business partners as needed
- Proactively seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements
- Assist with requests from external auditors as needed
- Assist with special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance by understanding the problem statement, developing a plan, and executing on deliverables.
