Software Engineering Manager, Vannevar Labs

• 5+ years of proven experience in engineering leadership roles, either as a tech lead or engineering manager
• Strong technical expertise in building ETL pipelines and designing APIs
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and operational security
• High ethical standards for handling sensitive data, ensuring adherence to data privacy rules and compliance standards
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork abilities, and project ownership
• Experience in data scraping or a strong desire to learn
• Background in offensive or defensive cybersecurity teams
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with Temporal.io or similar technologies

• We are seeking a dynamic Software Engineering Manager to lead our Cyber Research Unit (CRU)
• In this role, you will build and manage a cross-functional team dedicated to collecting and exploiting cyber intelligence data to support multiple product lines
• Team Building: Develop and lead a strong cross-functional team focused on cyber intelligence data collection and exploitation
• Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of cyber data products, from ideation to prototype to production
• Application Development: Design and build scalable, reliable data-intensive applications for collecting and warehousing cyber intelligence
• Cybersecurity Practices: Implement cybersecurity best practices to operationalize data collection while managing attribution and internet fingerprints
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and enhancement of data collection applications from various online sources
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and cybersecurity specialists, leveraging your communication skills to ensure effective teamwork
