  • If you are interested in building infrastructure for data platforms that run reliably with 99.99% uptime, can scale to petabytes of data ingested every day (and >2 trillion events processed), and return queries with p95 latencies less than 5 seconds, you will love this opportunity
  • 2+ years of experience in infrastructure design and architecture (cloud and on-prem)
  • Experience in providing PaaS for internal or external customers
  • Experience with Kubernetes - familiarity with on - prem and air-gapped deployments on Kubernetes
  • Multi-cloud experience, with expertise in at least one of AWS/GCP/Azure platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment automation tools (ArgoCD, Github Actions, etc.)
  • Familiarity with deployment strategies like blue-green, rolling deploys, canary deploys, etc
  • Experience in at least one mainstream language (Python/GoLang)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi) is a plus

What the job involves

  • Join SentinelOne as an Infrastructure Engineer and play a crucial role in building infrastructure. SentinelOne’s XDR vision of one autonomous cybersecurity platform depends on our ability to collect, store, and analyze data efficiently
  • Tools we use: Orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS, GKE), Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD, Terraform
  • Unlock portability for SentinelOne apps and services to run on any cloud platform
  • Achieve high operational efficiency for services you own, focusing on reliability and cost-effectiveness
  • Emphasize automation to reduce the toil and pager burden
  • Enable operational visibility through Infrastructure as Code, Observability, and best practices
  • Scale the data platform to handle over 5 PB/day ingest
  • Optimize cost and operational efficiency by moving workloads to alternate machine types
  • Consolidate Kafka clusters for cost and operational efficiencies
  • Manage open-source components like Postgres, Cassandra, JanusGraph, etc., for cloud portability
  • Implement GitOps automation for lifecycle automation of shared services like Kafka, Redis, Presto, etc

Our take

Cybercriminals are now leveraging the power of automation to make the current threat landscape too advanced for a lot of legacy antivirus software. SentinelOne is a cybersecurity company that matches this automation, with machine learning-focused software that is built to help businesses battle online attacks.

The company expanded the scope of its business from the endpoint security market to three markets valued at a combined $30 billion, including the corporate endpoint security and IT operations management markets. This gives SentinelOne a bigger potential customer base, although also puts them in direct competition with more focused cybersecurity companies, in addition to its biggest competitor, CrowdStrike.

When the company went public, it made financial headlines as the highest-valued cybersecurity IPO ever, which gave SentinelOne a market cap of $10B, though it's now fallen to around $4B. It has subsequently launched S Ventures, a $100M fund, through which SentinelOne invests in cybersecurity startups and has expanded its partnership with major tax firm KPMG to accelerate cyber investigations and responses to threats.
