  • 7+ years of experience developing complex software products

What the job involves

  • Reports to: VP of Engineering
  • Huntress is looking for an innovative and highly motivated Senior Software Engineering Manager with excellent technical and leadership skills to manage a team of software engineers
  • As the Senior Manager, you will support our mission to build a Managed Security platform that helps small and medium-sized businesses improve their security with tools that best fit their needs, workflows, and budgets
  • You will work closely with the entire Engineering, Product, and Security teams to build the type of solutions Huntress has become known for—solutions that not only solve problems but drastically improve industry standards, workflows, and user experiences
  • Leaders at Huntress are focused on team building, coaching, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
  • You will be working with an expert team of smart and diverse problem solvers who exhibit high energy, deep technical skills, and a drive to get things done
  • Able to bring both highly technical skills and effective people manager leadership
  • Coach and mentor a diverse team of engineers with an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and timely quality delivery
  • Work closely with internal recruiting to partner on strategic hiring when needed
  • Work with your team and cross-functional partners to influence and define strategy and roadmaps and be responsible for achieving timely execution and quality outcomes
  • Participate in technical design and implementation
  • Drive software quality and timely, predictable software delivery while balancing the needs of the business and team members
  • Set clear expectations, standards, and goals for team excellence, driving performance improvements at both team and individual levels. Measure impact and adjust accordingly
  • Ensure code quality and test coverage by ensuring the team performs proper code reviews and appropriate testing
  • Use a servant-leadership mindset to ensure that engineers and engineering managers have everything they need to design, build, iterate on, and ship high-quality software promptly
  • Drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level
  • Work effectively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes
  • Lead with transparency, candidly challenge assumptions, and exhibit integrity above all else
