Role
Who you are
- 5+ years experience building, shipping and enhancing SaaS products
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience building products with natural language processing (NLP)
- Clinical background or experience with clinical products, ideally in the nursing space
- A passion for understanding the nursing clinical practice
- Startup experience and extreme comfort with ambiguity
- Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding when to be scrappy v. when to be a perfectionist
- Ability to introduce new best practices as we scale
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced product manager to develop next-generation AI tools for nursing
- You will play a key role in expanding our footprint into inpatient conversations and supporting nurses, who are a key part of the care team
- In this role, you will work closely with internal engineering, design, machine learning, and clinical team members as well as external partners, to deliver zero-to-one features
- Lead and own product lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams and incorporating data and research to inform product strategies and roadmaps
- Ensure product success by measuring and proposing new initiatives to improve user adoption, retention, and satisfaction
- Keep team members and stakeholders highly aligned with roadmap prioritization updates and decisions, and ensure user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved
- Engage broadly with the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure product strategy for our Nursing initiative
- Assist the overall product team in implementing methodologies, tools, and systems that provide visibility and increase efficiencies and productivity
- Develop an ongoing relationship with customers and partners that are integral in driving Abridge’s goals to gather requests and feature ideas and prioritize them within our larger strategy context
- Weigh technical tradeoffs and lead in-depth discussions with scientists and engineers on the nuances and interactions of complex AI systems
- Understand AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and data science principles; and understand standard and emerging tools
- Support compliance with security and privacy regulations related to healthcare data
- Abridge typically hosts a 3 day builder team retreat every 3-6 months. These retreats often feature internal hackathons, collaborative project sessions, and social events that provide the team with opportunities to connect

This is where Abridge comes in, it has developed a HIPAA-compliant AI platform that transcribes, structures, summarizes, and provides insights from audio or transcripts of medical conversations. It claims to work across all specialities and offers patient-friendly summaries in easy-to-understand language.
Abridge aims to alleviate pressure on the healthcare system from the patient's perspective, a unique approach among healthtech startups. While companies like Inovia, DOUB, and DeepScribe focus on assisting physicians with medical transcription AI, they lack Abridge's patient-centric features, which are valuable in enhancing the patient experience.
