Our take

Muse Group was born from the overwhelming success of Ultimate Guitar. Following the launch of Ultimate Guitar’s mobile app in 2007, the company began acquiring other online music brands in 2012. By 2021 the company had acquired 7 companies and launched its own music education platform, MuseClass.

Muse Group now acts as the parent company for some of the most popular music and audio brands in the world, including Audacity, StaffPad, MuseScore, and Tonebridge. Since the formation of Muse Group, the company has been able to streamline cross-product innovation and further its commitment to providing a range of accessible, open-source tools.

The company is looking to further expand its international network to establish itself as one of the leading providers in the ever-evolving music industry.

Company

Company benefits

  • Flexibility: Work from home or from a co-working space of your choice
  • Care: therapy and assistance in difficult life circumstances
  • International Experience: Become part of a global team, from the US to the UK and beyond
  • Impact: Influence the development of the music industry and positively impact the lives of millions of musicians around the world
  • Creativity: We make products for musicians, artists and creators, and so each of us is a bit of a musician

Company values

  • HONESTY AND OPENNESS WITHOUT AGRESSION:
  • Honesty is not about proving your point but facing the facts
  • Never say behind someone's back what you would not say face to face
  • Criticism should not be for the sake of criticism and should not be mistaken for cretinism. Criticism should reveal weaknesses and suggest a way to improve them. When you criticize, do it ethically, without getting personal. Evaluate the work, not the person
  • OBSESSION WITH PRODUCT QUALITY:
  • Don't get fooled by this; we are not obsessed with "features"
  • A satisfactory product is a product in demand that grabs the user's attention. Good product - the one the user paid for and enjoyed using. Great product - the one user paid for and bragged about it
  • For a great product, users pay well. And vice versa, if users pay well, then it is a great product
  • BE DILIGENT:
  • Don't overthink; simplify
  • Don't waste time explaining why you didn't succeed
  • Be specific - add numbers, dates, and a link to the project. Skip general answers and unclear plans
  • RISK IT:
  • Set ambitious goals and get involved in working disputes regardless of rank and position if it's "for the right cause"
  • Focus on how to achieve the company's goals
  • Look for answers, not reasons
  • ENERGY AND DRIVE:
  • Be energetic and energize others
  • Don't be boring
  • There is no need to be negative in public
  • "HUG VENUS":
  • If you are stuck, something doesn't work, or you are in a bad mood - you can always ask for help
  • If you see that a colleague needs help and you can provide it, do it"
