Who you are

  • BSc. degree in Photography, Graphic Design, Communications, or similar
  • 1-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with of Adobe Photoshop, eager to become a Photoshop pro
  • Inspiring portfolio with Photoshop examples
  • Eye for detail, ability to notice the small but important things
  • Ability to deliver high volume of images, without compromising on quality
  • Well-organized, ability to work on multiple tasks in a given period
  • Good English communication skills, verbal and written
  • You're based in the Netherlands to be able to work from our beautiful office in Amsterdam

What the job involves

  • As Visual Editor, you know that image editing is a crucial phase, where images are refined, enhanced and transformed
  • You’ll be part of the international team, responsible for product presentation in the Dutch, German and French Picnic app
  • Working together with our experienced retouchers and photographers, you get the opportunity to learn everything about image editing and the photography process
  • Retouch and enhance high volume of product images to correct imperfections and improve overall visual quality
  • Together with our in-house Visual Editors, you will be responsible for post production of images in all countries
  • Work closely with our external edit agency, you make sure all photos go through the process smoothly and within deadlines
  • Ensure all images are correctly configured in our systems
  • Brainstorm and contribute with creative ideas to improve our product presentation

Our take

Picnic is one of Europe's largest online supermarkets, quickly growing into a household name with its simple, yet innovative app and green business model. Thanks to its ‘own the supply chain’ model and daily delivery routes (as opposed to on-demand delivery), the company is able to run a low-cost business targeted at the mass market, rather than premium buyers.

One of the major factors in the company’s rampant growth since 2015 is its capacity for free delivery, enabled by these daily delivery routes. The company's fleet has grown from 4 vans to more than 1,000 electric vehicles, cutting down on carbon emissions as it serves its hundreds of thousands of users.

The company's impressive funding - which has been heavily backed by the likes of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the sum of 1.4 billion euros in funding - has enabled Picnic to expand beyond The Netherlands into Germany, France, and further afield. Picnic is well set to see continued growth and expansion as it further disrupts the grocery delivery market.
