Role

Who you are

  • You love building resilient infrastructure but have an even greater love for how it’s deployed and managed
  • You make decisions based on data and are not afraid of experimenting to get the information you need
  • While checking every item below isn't necessary, you have (or are keen to have!) some of the following:
  • Passion for craftsmanship and product. You have well-considered opinions about how reliable infrastructure should work, and hold yourself and your code to a high standard
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and serverless compute platforms
  • Experience with service discovery and routing between microservices
  • Experience scripting in an interpreted language (application development and/or Go experience is a plus)
  • Experience with Relational and Non-relational databases
  • Experience with Configuration Management systems and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with continuous integration, delivery, testing, and code deployment
  • Experience using observability tools to make performance improvements and forecast growth
  • Experience improving system architecture, diagnosing shortcomings and implementing evidence-based recommendations
  • You can simplify complex topics to better suit a non-technical audience
  • Commitment to your teammates. You enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different experiences and take pride in mentoring and learning from others

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join SeatGeek’s Cloud Platform team
  • As a Platform Engineer, you'll improve the systems that power the entirety of SeatGeek's technology ecosystem
  • As a member of the Cloud Platform team, you will be spearheading the development of cutting edge technologies within SeatGeek’s core compute, infrastructure as code, database, and network infrastructure
  • This team is the backbone to our Enterprise and Consumer lines of business as we grow our primary and secondary ticketing platforms that support world-class clients such as the Dallas Cowboys, and Manchester City FC
  • Bring a software engineers’ mindset to SeatGeeks’ unique scaling, workflow automation and resilience challenges
  • Build Golden Paths for infrastructure that help accelerate our teams’ ability to deliver features quickly and with confidence
  • Build and maintain tools that our developers use to observe their applications, and drive initiatives to increase our overall reliability
  • Engineer resilient and observable networking infrastructure that supports a diverse set of workloads across multiple regions
  • Collaborate with other departments on how to run production systems and deployments with autonomy
  • Support teams with expertise in the area of deployment, configuration, routing, monitoring and scalability in all parts of the stack
  • Become a force multiplier by mentoring and leading the team around you
  • Participate in an on-call schedule to help our customers experience more live

Our take

For many fans, buying tickets online can be a time-consuming and frustrating process. SeatGeek is setting out to ease this problem by powering an open entertainment industry that provides fans with greater access to experiences, while enabling teams, venues, and shows to have seamless access to their audiences.

SeatGeek launched with a laser-sharp focus on creating a customer-oriented ticketing marketplace for sports and live events. Its commitment to optimizing fan experience has helped distinguish the company from rivals, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, with its expanding suite of simple features that have made it the highest-rated and most trusted ticketer.

SeatGeek has secured integration partnerships with Facebook, Spotify and Snapchat, and has an impressive client list that includes the Dallas Cowboys, Manchester City FC, and the Brooklyn Nets. It continues to onboard enterprise clients, expand its international presence and release new products such as "Next Fan Up", positioning it well for future success.
