Role

Who you are

  • 7+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years in leadership and management roles
  • Familiarity with international recruiting, particularly in the US and Korea
  • A strong track record of scaling recruiting functions in high-growth, startup environments
  • Experience working closely with executive and founding teams to align recruiting efforts with strategic goals
  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive tooling decisions, including ATS and other recruitment platforms, from selection to optimization
  • Exceptional data literacy, with the ability to define, track, and achieve key recruiting metrics
  • Experience leading employer branding initiatives and building scalable hiring processes
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and elevate a team
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion ensuring it is embedded in every aspect of talent acquisition

What the job involves

  • As Head of Talent, you’ll take full ownership of our recruiting function, splitting your time between leadership (50%) and hands-on recruitment (50%).
  • You’ll play a critical role in building scalable processes, overseeing tools and systems, and driving strategic initiatives such as employer branding, talent strategy, and operational excellence
  • In this role, you will partner directly with the founding and executive team to align talent strategies with Twelve Labs’ ambitious goals while ensuring the recruiting team is empowered to deliver on its objectives
  • Leadership and Strategy:
  • Build and execute a recruiting strategy that aligns with Twelve Labs’ growth goals, particularly in technical and AI-related roles
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing talent team, focusing on scalability, collaboration, and operational efficiency
  • Own the strategic direction for all recruiting tools and systems, including selecting, implementing, and optimizing platforms like ATS and CRM systems
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to understand hiring needs, prioritize roles, and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Drive broad initiatives, including employer branding, talent analytics, and DEI strategies, to position Twelve Labs as a destination for world-class talent
  • Define and track recruiting KPIs, using data to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure accountability
  • Hands-On Recruiting:
  • Personally manage full-cycle recruitment for key technical and leadership roles, focusing on AI, engineering, and other critical functions
  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to attract top-tier talent in competitive markets
  • Partner with hiring managers to refine the recruitment process and ensure alignment with Twelve Labs’ culture and values
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience that reflects the company’s commitment to excellence

Our take

Developing an algorithm that can understand text or images is (relatively) straightforward. However, the challenge escalates when it comes to understanding video, where these modes merge with audio, and context becomes much harder to grasp.

Twelve Labs has developed a machine learning solution that tackles this challenge by making the inner content of videos both indexable for developers and highly searchable for users. This technology could prove immensely valuable, with use cases extending far beyond simple searchability for end users. It could be employed for more accurate monitoring of community guidelines on social media, enterprise knowledge searches, and a deeper understanding of the value of video content.

With recent funding under its belt, Twelve Labs is set for rapid growth. The investment will drive R&D, nearly double its workforce, and advance its video understanding technology. As it expands, Twelve Labs is well-positioned to lead the future of multimodal AI and revolutionize how organizations extract values from video content.
