Who you are

  • 5+ years of Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, or Sales Operations experience
  • Prior team lead or management experience
  • Previous experience successfully partnering with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in SalesForce, SalesForce CPQ, Netsuite, and Microsoft Excel is required
  • Familiar with Hardware and SaaS revenue recognition and order processing principles
  • Experience in Federal and State & Local Government deal structuring and contracting
  • Experience working for a fast-paced technology company is a huge bonus

What the job involves

  • As a Director or Sr. Manager, Deal Desk (leveling will be decided during the interview process), you will be responsible for leading and scaling our Deal Desk team, systems, and processes
  • You will create the playbook for ensuring all Skydio deals efficiently and effectively move through the sales process while making sure they adhere to Skydio compliance policies
  • Lead the deal desk team who manages the day-to-day aspects of deal structuring, pricing, contract management, and order administration
  • Become the subject matter expert for Skydio’s pricing models and product configurations to assist our Sales team with deal structuring and quoting support
  • Work alongside Sales Operations, Legal, Product, and Product Marketing to ensure pricebooks, proposal templates, and order form templates are always up to date in SalesForce
  • Proactively drive initiatives that increase efficiencies in the Sales Process across Skydio’s four different sales segments (Enterprise, Federal, SLED, and International Sales)
  • Provide sales training and enablement of quote-to-cash processes

Its products have a wide range of applications, most notably for businesses that need to undertake inspections in unsafe places. The drones are also valuable to search and rescue efforts, police forces, and the US army.

Backed by a range of top investors and strategic partners (including Andreesen Horowitz, Levitate Capital, and Next 47) Skydio sets itself apart from its competitors by marketing its products predominantly to businesses. With technology such as 3D scanning and a 360-degree superzoom mode, its drones have a wide range of applications and functionality.

The company raised funding in 2023, which has boosted its valuation to over $2 billion. It has since focussed on R&D, developing and launching the X10 model which is designed for first responders and the military, as well as enhancing its remote control and thermal imaging capabilities. As the largest American drone company, there is no reason Skydio shouldn't remain a key industry actor for years to come.
