Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in public relations and communications
- Proven success in launching products/solutions to top-tier tech and business media, with strong relationships in tech and business press
- Experience in product and brand PR, including developing campaigns, managing product reviews, and creating media strategies
- Crisis management expertise and the ability to build trust with key internal stakeholders
- Strong media relations skills and established connections with national business, technology, enterprise media, and industry trade media
- Experience managing external vendors and agency partners
- Knowledge of integrated communications programs with a focus on press relations and social media
- Pre, at, and post IPO experience in the deep-tech, SaaS, or enterprise software space
- Experience working with senior executives or a C-suite, with the confidence to recommend communication strategies
- Experience in developing and managing social media strategies and campaigns across various platforms
Desirable
- Analyst Relations experience is preferred, with a willingness to support Analyst Relations efforts as needed
- Understanding or experience with quantum computing technologies
What the job involves
- We are seeking an External Communications Leader to join our team
- In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to steer Quantinuum on its mission to build the world’s leading quantum computers to solve complex global challenges
- You will be integral to our growing marketing team, supporting our go-to-market strategies with clear and compelling product positioning, messaging, and marketing support
- Your efforts will help bring clarity to the evolving quantum computing market and drive our marketing initiatives and investments
- Develop and implement PR strategies in collaboration with Brand, Content Marketing, Product Marketing, Investor Relations, and other teams
- Manage C-level communication support across social channels, events, and drive support for thought-leadership opportunities
- Create and execute PR plans for product and application launches that enhance the Quantinuum brand for diverse audiences
- Manage a proactive news strategy across all media verticals and handle inbound media inquiries to support and promote the Quantinuum brand
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key media outlets and reporters to increase awareness and customer engagement
- Organize press briefings, media tours, events, and produce press materials such as blog posts, media pitches, FAQs, and fact sheets
- Oversee PR and Influencer agencies
- Collaborate with Investor Relations, Compliance, and Legal teams on all relevant matters
- Train and prepare company leaders/C-suite for media interactions and develop their thought leadership platforms
- Write and edit press releases, pitches, bylines, blog posts, abstracts, award nominations, and contributed content
- Identify and manage award applications, podcast opportunities, and conference submissions for key executives
Our take
The processing power of quantum computing (QC) promises to yield substantial advances across dozens of diverse industries, from the development of pharmaceuticals, to the chemical industry and financial services. Billions are being poured into the steady development of these computers, both into the hardware and the specialised software which can harness these devices.
Quantinuum was formed out of the merger of Cambridge Quantum and Honeywell, QC software and hardware firms respectively. These two highly respected companies had independently made quite a stir in the QC space and attracted a high degree of investment, and their merger has created the world's largest integrated QC company, able to build and operate quantum computers at both the hardware and software level.
The organisation has moved fast and has already developed software and hardware for the application of QC in chemistry, natural language processing, machine learning, algorithms, and cybersecurity. All of these are exceedingly lucrative and high-stakes areas of business, and it is leaders in precisely these sectors (Google, for example, and IBM) who are investing so heavily into the QC project.
Quantinuum's software is system agnostic, allowing the advances it makes to be used on other quantum computers as well as its own, opening up major business opportunities. So Quantinuum is working in conjunction with some of the sector’s major players, whilst also pursuing high value customers and lucrative market opportunities. It’s remarkable work, and it will have a substantial impact on the progress of key industries going forwards.
