  • 3+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, including QA and deployment processes

  • Experience with writing automated tests and is comfortable with performing additional QA support when needed
  • Strong command of a major modern programming language (some we work with are Golang, JavaScript/NodeJS, PHP, and Python) but it’s not vital that it’s one that we work with right now
  • Experience with cloud technologies is a plus e.g. (AWS, Apache Airflow, Dockerized Kubernetes environments)
  • Experience with querying large datasets to better understand trends, optimize delivery, and troubleshoot issues
  • Comfortable with modern web developer tools for inspecting complicated publisher web pages
  • Experience in working with product teams and designers to deliver a great experience to users or customers
  • A strong belief that computers are fun

What the job involves

  • As a Software Engineer at Kargo, you will be a key part of our multidisciplinary video team which involves client-side and server-side engineering across multiple technology stacks, frameworks, and languages
  • Work on systems that handle billions of ad requests to help clients deliver and make informed decisions from millions of ads
  • Iterate and innovate on video ad delivery, measurement, and management across a variety of technology stacks
  • Collaborate with a great team to grow your technical and subject matter expertise. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of full stack development, from ideation to to delivery of high quality, best in class capabilities which give our team and customers the edge in the market
  • Work in a truly agile environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate on planning process while also have the freedom to address emergent needs

The way in which advertisers reach out to their audiences has changed dramatically over the last decade, primarily due to the invention of the smartphone. Whilst mobile ads have existed since the beginning of smartphones, most rely on technology that was built for desktops, resulting in bad advertising and missed opportunities.

Kargo provides a mobile advertising platform for marketers and publishers, helping them to deliver better business outcomes by leveraging advertising technology designed specifically for mobile. The company achieves this by directly integrating optimized impressions from the best-performing publishers within its specialized supply, using tangible identity metrics to analyze and improve advertiser KPIs, and overall facilitating personalized and mobile-optimized advertising.

The company acquired Videobyte (a video advertising platform for Connected TV) in early 2023 to expand operations into the relatively young digital TV industry and its lucrative TV formats. Bringing video, publisher tools, and unique formats to Kargo's omnichannel, this acquisition indicates a diversification of mediums for the advertising provider, who already has a firm grip on both mobile and desktop advertising platforms.
