Role
Who you are
- J.D. and barred in the state of California
- 5+ years of relevant experience (may be combined in-house/law firm experience, but at least 3 years of in-house experience at a technology company)
- Demonstrated ability to quickly and efficiently negotiate master service agreements to mutual party satisfaction
- Deep legal understanding of the nuances in master service agreements and associated risk (ie. indemnification, limitations of liability, etc.)
- Excellent business and legal judgment
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Highly organized and process oriented
- Working knowledge of data privacy, IP, and accounting principles
- Experience with FinTech, Service Providers, Federal Government, AI, GDPR, CCPA, International contracts, etc. would be a plus
What the job involves
- Provide transactional support for various departments including: sales, procurement, marketing, IT, cybersecurity, etc
- Review, negotiate, and draft a broad range of legal agreements, including SaaS agreements, technology licenses, data processing agreements, agency agreements, service agreements, and partnership/reseller agreements, etc
- Partner with sales and finance teams to streamline the deal making process and ensure compliance with legal, accounting, and company policies
- Provide advice and support on a variety of legal subject areas, including intellectual property, information security, and data privacy
- Distill legal principles and compliance requirements into practical business advice and solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support risk mitigation procedures in response to pre-litigation disputes, incidents, audits, and other inquiries
- Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, legal processes, and documentation
- Participate in mergers, acquisitions, fundraising and other corporate transactions by performing legal due diligence, issue analysis, and contract summaries
- Other duties as assigned and as needed
Our take
Business has become increasingly complicated. The rapid flow of data from inside and outside the organisation has rendered top-down planning difficult and often ineffective especially in an enterprise network setting. Forward Networks provides a solution with a digital twin, creating an accurate copy of a company's network architecture so planners and developers can see how their activities will affect operations across the entire network.
Although digital twinning is a relatively new concept, made possible only by recent advances in AI, there is already intense competition for this space. Forward Networks has carved out a unique niche in focusing on enterprise networks rather than the organisation as a whole, a focus which is needed given the complexity of modern hybrid networks which can span several cloud environments. This has led to Forward Networks picking up major clients such as Tesltra, Paypal, and Ubisoft.
In 2023, Forward Networks completed a Series D funding round led by MSD Partners, with participation from Goldman Sachs, one of its long-term customers. This investment will help develop its product, expand the services available to its customers, and scale its core team as business continues to grow.

Previously, he worked at SDN Academy, ON.Lab, and Cisco.
Peyman Kazemian
(Co-Founder)Peyman received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford. His dissertation showed novel ways to troubleshoot and verify the correctness of networks. Previously, he created and taught SDN Academy courses, worked at Google and Ericsson, and was part of the team at Stanford that developed OpenFlow and SDN.
