Who you are

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience owning and delivering business service launches and growth, from discovery and ideation to delivery and sustainment
  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, with an acute understanding of healthcare operations, policies, and procedures
  • Expertise in managing complex projects and processes, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the proficiency to interpret data and make informed judgements to improve program performance
  • Strong instincts on how to set up processes that are efficient and will scale well, with knowledge in designing, documenting, training, and rolling out new initiatives

Desirable

  • Experience at a high growth start up
  • Deep knowledge and familiarity with Medicare or Medicare Advantage program management, including familiarity with CMS regulations and compliance requirements
  • Past experience in a consultancy capacity or working directly within mental health/behavioral health services, particularly in a Medicare context
  • Experience in a leadership role with at least one direct report

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations to help Rula realize this mission and expand our services to Medicare members
  • This Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations will be responsible for helping Rula launch and grow both our Medicare and Medicare Advantage books of business nationally
  • This role will be a mix of internal operations and external partner management, to ensure that our launches and expansion are successful
  • The Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations will work directly with Rula’s Product, Billing, Support, and Provider teams to launch Medicare nationally and deliver an excellent experience for our patients, providers, and payer partners
  • This role sits in a team that is expanding rapidly, yet focuses intentionally on building culture to enable individual and team growth and success
  • In an effort to service our mission, we act with camaraderie, support, and a sense of urgency

Our take

More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.

The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.

Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, containing giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers do mark it out against the crowd. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasize its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
