Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or an equivalent
  • 7 or more years of product management experience including 5+ years of experience in a technical product management role
  • 3 or more years of product management experience focused on ML platform or feature development
  • Past experience in a technical role (Software engineering or Data Science) is strongly preferred
  • Experience crafting something from nothing, particularly in building and driving adoption of new tools
  • Experience in Enterprise product management, specifically in productizing ML applications at scale
  • Experience working with other internal teams in cross-collaborative efforts - comfortable handling ambitious dependencies and priorities
  • Ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and professionally
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including comfort in communicating with senior leadership
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced team including highly technical areas

  • As a Principal ML Product Manager, you will lead the delivery of innovative and scalable machine learning solutions covering the entire product development lifecycle​, ensuring on-time, high-quality deliverables
  • You will develop and articulate machine learning platform product strategy, vision, and roadmap balancing platform innovation, alignment with our partners needs and overall company goals
  • Through these responsibilities, you are expected to demonstrate thought leadership in machine learning, artificial intelligence, large language models, responsible AI practices and data security and privacy
  • We will challenge you to apply your best creative thinking, analysis, problem-solving, and technical abilities to make an impact on thousands of enterprises and millions of users

Our take

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
