Role

Who you are

  • 8+ years of work experience on a team with similar core responsibilities
  • 4+ years of experience successfully building and leading high performing BI teams
  • Post-secondary education with a strong analytical component, e.g. statistics, business, social sciences, sciences
  • Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies and tools with experience leveraging data for driving business insights and outcomes
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Relational Databases and SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with ability to present and clearly explain insights based on data to non-technical executive audiences
  • Experience with the entire development cycle of projects in a fast-paced workplace

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the digital advertising industry (e.g. AdWords, DSPs, ad-serving)
  • Experience working with product analytics tools (e.g. Pendo)
  • Familiar with a data analysis programming language such as Python

What the job involves

  • The Business Intelligence & Data Operations team works on data and reporting solutions using big data from our online programmatic ad-buying and automation platform to solve business problems and support decision-making
  • They work with a wide variety of groups within Basis including Product Management and Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Services.
  • The team manages all aspects of custom reporting and analytics projects and advises on reporting capabilities available through our technology platform and API.
  • They are responsible for unlocking the vast amount and huge potential of Basis data to drive the company's key metrics and generate actionable insight empowering data-driven decisions
  • Manage the execution of the company-wide BI roadmap and strategy ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Lead and iterate on the process of how work gets done, actively prioritizing the team's work to balance short term and long term business needs to maximize impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into impactful BI solutions
  • Build and manage a high performing BI team by leading, coaching, developing and hiring Business Analysts, Solutions Architects, and Data Analysts
  • Establish and maintain data governance and quality standards to ensure best-in-class data accuracy and reliability of analysis and reporting
  • Partner with Data Operations and other tech teams, such as Data Engineering, to build an architecture and process that supports the present and future needs of Basis, acting as a crucial link between stakeholders and technical teams
  • Educate internal clients on how to leverage our data and the KPIs that drive business success
