Company mission

To make consumer finance amazing: faster, cheaper and friendlier.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for someone to get stuck in and deliver change on the ground
  • Experienced Product Manager: You have 1-3 years of experience managing products, ideally in a tech-driven and scale up environment. Experience in consumer finance and/or operations is a plus
  • Strong written communications: Stellar written communication skills for both internal stakeholders and customer-facing content. You will need to write clear, concise, and user-friendly material for Help Centres and automated responses. Experience writing content for AI knowledge bases is plus
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker: You excel at using data to guide your decisions and measure the impact of your initiatives
  • Strategic thinker and doer: You possess the ability to combine thinking and the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal communication: You're a superb communicator who can inspire and drive change across various teams and stakeholders
  • Innovative Problem Solver: You're at ease working with engineering teams and operational agents to identify pain points and develop transformative solutions
  • An interest in AI: You have a clear interest in AI and any real experience working with GenAI technologies to drive value is a real plus

What the job involves

  • Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
  • Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
  • Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting
  • At Lendable, we're not just enhancing operations; we're redefining them to deliver outstanding customer experiences and market leading efficiency
  • We're searching for a Product Manager to join our team to support our entire operations team (Customer service, Financial support, Complaints etc)
  • This is your chance to make a significant impact by integrating AI and automation into our operations, propelling our growth, and setting new standards in the fintech industry
  • Scaling our operations function in a sustainable manner is a key area of focus for the business and this role offers the opportunity to play a part in this
  • You will work closely with both ops and engineering teams
  • You will not just be needed to build efficient processes but also to help set out and champion our ops strategy
  • You will work directly with senior leaders and contribute to Lendable's vision to make a difference in how we operate and succeed in a highly competitive market
  • Drive Innovation: Use AI and automation to transform our operational processes. Your initiatives will increase efficiency and enhance customer journeys, allowing us to scale effectively without expanding our team size
  • Lead delivery: You will be responsible for end to end delivery. From discovery to understand our agents’ pain points through to ideation and execution. Imagine creating a system that predicts and resolves customer complaints automatically or a workflow that drastically cuts down the manual effort for financial support
  • Measure Impact: We are a data driven company at Lendable. So you will need to develop and monitor key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the changes you implement. Use data and direct feedback from our operations team to continuously refine our processes
  • Champion Change: Work closely with over 100 operations colleagues across multiple locations, ensuring the seamless rollout of new processes. Your role will be crucial in managing transitions that are complex yet critical, with minimal impact on our service quality and customer experience
  • Shape Our Future: Collaborate with senior leaders to define and champion for our operational strategy. Your work will directly influence our corporate direction and contribute to our success in a competitive landscape
  • Example problems to solve:
  • Define and implement the AI chatbot roadmap: Develop and optimise the customer support chatbot. You will use Intercom’s AI bot technology to enhance self-serve and automated support for our customers
  • Utilise data for continuous improvement: Analyse user interactions and drivers of contact to understand how we can improve resolutions to customer queries without agent input
  • Stay updated with industry trends: Keep up to date with AI and ML technology, platforms, and products, and follow market trends to push the boundaries of AI and ML technology for the team and customers

Application process

  • Call with our TA team
  • Take home task and task debrief
  • Final Interviews:
  • Peer interview
  • CPO interview
  • Team interview

Our take

Lendable competes with banks, other marketplace lenders, and consumer finance companies to provide loans to consumers, small businesses, and property developers. Last year the UK marketplace lenders loaned £7.3bn in total.

Lendable believes it can win in this crowded field due to its market-best customer service and its strong financials. Unlike Zopa, RateSetter, or Lending Works, their funding comes from institutional investors.

It originates and services the loans on behalf of institutional investors, but does not hold them on its own balance sheet.

Growing insolvencies will worry all marketplace lending platforms, but Lendable looks well placed to weather any credit storm given their substantial debt financing.
