Who you are

  • DoorDash Labs is hiring a DevOps Engineer who is enthusiastic about DevOps, robotics, and autonomy and has practical experience with various infrastructure
  • B.S in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of C++ and how C++ code is compiled
  • Strong Experience working with Bazel, dependency management and build time optimizations
  • 5+ years of industry experience as a DevOps engineer, build engineer or equivalent
  • Experience with AWS and its services
  • Experience with Docker, Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus and scripting (Bash or Python)
  • Experience with Linux/Unix development environments and troubleshooting the system
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, puppet, etc
  • Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
  • Adaptability, resilience, and being able to thrive in ambiguity
  • Enjoy working collaboratively, you help everyone to win, not just yourself
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail

What the job involves

  • DoorDash Labs is an independent team at DoorDash that focuses on robotics and automation to develop autonomous delivery solutions as part of the DoorDash platform
  • The team is responsible for managing both on-prem robots, hardware and cloud infrastructure, as well as CI/CD and AWS operations
  • In addition, the team handles software validation and release management
  • The team has a significant impact on the daily success of the product and contributes to achieving company goals
  • The role involves enhancing our existing software build infrastructure and CI pipelines, simplifying the deployment process of new software , applying configuration changes and and managing a rapidly expanding environment
  • The team aims to implement advanced processes, tools, and frameworks to create a top-notch DevOps ecosystem and enhance the developer experience and productivity
  • Own our entire build process and utilize bazel to compile software and manage all dependencies for both cloud infrastructure and bare-metal deployment
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines while collaborating across teams to improve build, integration & release processDesign, build, and test scalable tools, frameworks and processes to support our fast growing autonomy team
  • Continuously identify areas of opportunity for improving developer productivity, lowering cost and time to execution of all CI/cloud execution tasks
  • Contribute to DevOps roadmap, schedule and key release milestones across all DevOps projects

DoorDash was an early entrant into the last-mile restaurant delivery business, which is now crowded with the likes of Uber Eats, Postmates and GrubHub. They offer restaurants an end-to-end delivery platform, generating new business and access to a network of delivery drivers.
