Role

Who you are

  • Experience in internal tooling departments (billing, CRM, deploying a software for internal usage…), ideally in a large scale-up
  • Management Experience / Ability to build Teams
  • Product, “Business Ops” experience working on several internal subjects / process at a time to boost/optimize the productivity of different teams
  • Good Knowledge of the tooling ecosystem (CRM…)

  • Fluent in English and ideally based in Paris

What the job involves

  • Your role will be crucial for optimizing internal tools, processes & operations and contribute to the overall success and growth of the company
  • You’ll directly impact how efficiently and effectively our operations teams collaborate on a daily basis
  • You’ll manage an existing internal tooling squad composed of an existing Senior PM (Grégoire) and a few software engineers
  • Within one month:
  • You’ll learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week
  • You’ll familiarize yourself with the product and the accounting industry (You will have access to a lot of documentation and will assist to trainings organized by your peers)
  • You’ll get a very deep knowledge of our Product & Ops organization, methods, and culture
  • Within 3 months:
  • You’ll have imagined and implemented your first solutions, hand-in-hand with your team and in coordination with other teams
  • You’ll have impacted positively at least one OKR
  • You will have setup your continuous internal discovery routine and will be ready to build your roadmap
  • Within 6 months:
  • You’ll be autonomous at defining your OKRs and your roadmap
  • You’ll keep having a strong impact via iterations on the solutions you've shipped
  • You’ll share your learnings and best practices within the teams
  • And beyond:
  • Increased responsibilities in project leadership
  • Responsibilities to think of and implement new processes, tools and best practices to make sure that your team works even smoother

In multiple mature markets, companies have been using QuickBooks, Xero and other SaaS solutions for accounting, but it is a fragmented industry with each country using its own software solution. In France, there is no definitive SaaS solution for accounting.

Pennylane wants to overhaul current tools and modernise the tech stack of accounting firms, by connecting directly with third-party services that hold valuable information. Accounting firms can use Pennylane collaboratively by accessing the platform to centralise receipts, create invoices and automate tasks. Instead of sending information back and forth with spreadsheets and photo attachments, both clients and accounting firms can interact directly on the platform.

Pennylane has a significant market opportunity ahead, with an ambitious goal to become the preferred management platform for European companies. The company already claims 50,000 customers. A recent instalment of funding will allow the company to further develop its platform, looking at artificial intelligence for accountants, and expand to other markets in Europe.
