Who you are
- We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals
- We’re looking for engineers who are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full stack as we push technology forward
- An established track record of building modern single-page web applications using JavaScript frameworks such as React
- Modern software development practices, designing and architecting with security in mind
- Good practical knowledge of OOP concepts and SOLID principles
- Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful design
- Experience with Unit and Integration testing using tools like Jest, Cypress, and Playwright
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
- Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong customer focus with care for accessibility and User Experience

- You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy
- As a Frontend Software Engineer embedded within a multifunctional team, you will collaborate with Product and Design counterparts in ideating, building and supporting the UI for Checkout.com products and services, ensuring our merchants enjoy an optimal experience across all our frontend touchpoints
- With your technical expertise, you will help define project priorities, manage deadlines, and ensure high-quality deliverables
- You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions
- Be part of, and collaborate with, cross-functional teams including product management, across a large engineering community
- Define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems in a wider microservices using industry best practices
- Stay up-to-date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies used by Checkout
- Write clean, maintainable, extendable and testable code on some of Checkout’s most impactful systems
- Build, own and operate your systems to the highest levels of resilience and service

Checkout.com are building the go-to platform for all things related to payments, such as accepting transactions, processing them and detecting fraud. They've secured a steady stream of funding from top investors like Tiger Global Management, and are the strategic payments partner for some of the best known fast-moving brands globally such as Patreon, Dashlane, Udacity, Wise, Sony Electronics, and Klarna.
They focus on large merchants and try to make their product as customisable as possible, so that companies integrate Checkout.com as an infrastructure partner in their product. This increases the stickiness of the product and creates many opportunities for them to generate revenue.
Checkout.com have high quality proprietary technology (their platform has been designed from the outset so they can easily deliver incremental services as they expand their offering) and claim to offer the most comprehensive cross-border payment solution for digital commerce.
