Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics) or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience within a software and/or technology company
  • Experience in accounts receivable modules: NetSuite ERP, Stripe payment processing, Zendesk, and Salesforce
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • SaaS industry experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Index Match, Sum If, etc.)

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business-to-Business Collections Specialist to join our dynamic finance team
  • The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and facilitating the timely collection of outstanding payments from our business clients
  • This role requires a strong understanding of financial processes, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to resolving payment issues
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining positive client relationships while ensuring the financial health of the company
  • Collections Management:
  • Contact and communicate with business clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Review and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to prioritize collection efforts and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Negotiate payment plans or arrangements with clients to resolve outstanding balances while adhering to company policies
  • Dispute Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes that may be delaying payment, collaborating with internal departments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of communication, actions taken, and resolutions achieved in the collections process
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all collection-related inquiries
  • Provide exceptional customer service, address client concerns, and ensure a positive overall experience while effectively managing collections activities
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to facilitate effective communication and resolution of payment-related issues

Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
