  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively and influence decision-making at various levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive consensus on architectural decisions
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or another highly regulated environment is a plus

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a highly proficient and experienced Senior Expert Engineer to join our Architecture Services team
  • In this role, you will contribute to shaping and evolving the overall architecture of our solutions while providing expertise in frontend development
  • Architecture at Ada is a collaborative responsibility which is shared between all the teams at Ada. Ada has a decentralised architecture approach
  • The responsibility does not belong to just one team of architects
  • Every engineer, team, and group is required to define and evolve the joint architecture together. For this, the architect services team provides leadership, mentorship, guidance, constraints, and tools to facilitate the joint process
  • You will directly work with the leadership team of the group, giving guidance on the future development of Ada’s architecture
  • While not being a member of a module team, you have a hands-on mentality and you are always eager to code to support teams, prototyping, technology evaluation, and tools enabling the software development process
  • This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with talented professionals, and drive architectural decisions that have a direct impact on improving healthcare outcomes globally
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evolve Ada Health's architecture in alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
  • Lead architectural design discussions, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability of the overall system and its components
  • Take ownership of Ada’s frontend architecture and, together with engineering teams, develop technical designs for the frontend platform that will enable seamless integration of different Ada modules
  • Take ownership of critical architectural components, drive architectural initiatives, and propose innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges
  • Review and evaluate architectural proposals, architectural decision records (ADRs), and technical initiatives to ensure adherence to architectural principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with product managers, engineering leads, and stakeholders to prioritize architectural improvements, address technical debt, and support the implementation of cross-team product initiatives
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and mitigate potential technical risks related to frontend development, architecture, and deployment processes
  • Champion engineering excellence, promote a collaborative engineering culture, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, code quality, and system performance
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software architecture, and advocate for their adoption where applicable

Our take

The global digital health market is expected to reach $221 Billion by 2026. With more than 12 million users globally, over 26.5m assessments and a suite of AI-driven enterprise solutions, Ada is is a large player in this emerging market.

The startup’s broad global reach and deep relationships with healthcare providers and professionals has allowed it to build a market-leading symptoms-diagnosis product based on Artificial Intelligence.

The product means Ada can move beyond symptom checking to help people monitor their health continuously and take proactive steps to keep it in tip-top condition. In 2023, it partnered with Pfizer to create a COVID-19 digital care journey for sufferers of the virus. That partnership, and many of Ada's other ventures mean new B2B revenue-driving opportunities from health systems, insurers and life sciences organisations.

The idea of proactive healthcare, catching a £100k per year problem when it is a £100 problem, has been a prize that digital health companies have long sought and failed. Ada's suite of products and connections is looking to buck that trend.
