Company mission

To connect and power an inclusive, digital economy that benefits everyone, everywhere by making transactions safe, simple, smart, and accessible.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for motivated individuals that are looking to be a part of an established division comprised of both industry veterans as well as newcomers.
  • What they all have in common is the understanding that in order to achieve great things, being able to work together as a team is a must
  • It is likely that, in your current occupation, you are the person your colleagues seek out for answers and designs.
  • You are the one that is driving progress and innovation in a pragmatic manner, always looking to push the envelope of what is possible
  • You will be joining a group of highly skilled individuals working together as a team to push the limits of what is possible to achieve with open banking payments
  • Beyond that, it is expected that you have experience building and designing scalable and performant software using modern development standards, meaning it should not come as a surprise that we utilise all the tools at our disposal from standard ticketing systems (Azure DevOps), VCS, test automation, to CI/CD pipelines
  • Additionally, if you have experience with provisioning infrastructure as code (Terraform), deploying to a multi-cloud environment, as well as interest in computer security it would be a great benefit
  • Prior experience from working in closely regulated industries (financial, medical, etc.) or areas that deal with handling personal information is welcome, but not required

What the job involves

  • Play a key role in the development and maintenance of the products that secure high quality payment that are frictionless, safe and secure
  • Building on the strong foundation of our state-of-the-art bank connectivity APIs, the engineers create low-touch solutions that take the burden of moving money, paying bills and empowering general e-commerce from customers that want to spend their efforts building great products that leverage the full potential of the open banking standard
  • You will be spending most of your time in the Microsoft domain, meaning APIs built in C# with ASP.NET deployed to the cloud (Azure/AWS). Very deep knowledge of at least some of these areas is a requirement.

Our take

Mastercard is in the global payments business, and operates the world's fastest payments processing network. Its products and solutions have become central to everyday commerce across the world, in activities ranging from shopping and travelling to running businesses.

As the economy has become more and more digitised, Mastercard has been a leading player in helping businesses and individuals across the globe embrace card payments and digital banking. One of the world's largest companies, its revenue has seen consistent gain in the last 20 years.

The challenge for modern payments companies is that payments are always changing, as seen in the astronomical rise of contactless payments over the last decade. Mastercard's acquisition of blockchain systems, and an overall focus on leveraging its technology towards a digital economy, has placed the company in good stead to keep up to date with current trends, like cryptocurrency, in the digitised payments world.
