Who you are

  • 9+ years working in engineering organisations with a user-centric product mindset and using common Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and Lean methodologies
  • 3+ years leading impactful engineering teams in internationalisation and localisation
  • Preferred but not essential - 3+ years experience with Workday architecture
  • Experience recruiting, growing, developing and mentoring large, diverse engineering teams developing and deploying SaaS applications
  • Track record of ensuring that processes used to develop features are user-focused and are based on design-thinking principles
  • Experience leading complex multi-functional technical initiatives in a fast paced environment
  • Critical thinker capable of interpreting a range of relevant data sources
  • Outstanding facilitation, conflict resolution and prioritisation skills

What the job involves

  • We are looking for an experienced people-first, proactive Sr Delivery Manager to provide the leadership, vision and execution strategy to ensure we build and ship high quality, reliable, secure, scalable solutions that drive great language experiences
  • This is a “hands on” people-leader role with the opportunity to lead and develop a team of engineers, architects, dev ops and QA to focus on best-in-class solutions for globalising Workday products
  • Your leadership promotes positive and constructive relationships with both customers and Workmates, and will help our business grow and scale more globally!
  • Ensure that product delivery is high quality in both architecture design, code quality/standard methodologies. Ensure that we have happy customers
  • Align and organize the team to deliver on product vision and roadmap, in collaboration with product managers and other internal partner teams
  • Ensure that the team has a high-level engagement through clear role definition, career growth and skill development opportunities, recognition and feedback
  • Effective resource management, ensuring work is assigned effectively and is completed on a timely basis and that each development team has the vital resources, tools, and security access to effectively complete their tasks
  • Own and track key performance metrics to analyse trends and identify areas for improvement, and to take proactive steps to address them
  • Monitor adherence to agile methodologies and processes, making necessary adjustments for delivery needs and managing expectations across key partners

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
