Who you are

  • You have 3-4 years of experience in strategy, product, analytics, growth operations or related; subscription business or retention marketing experience is a plus

What the job involves

  • As a Senior Strategy Associate for the Homepage, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of food delivery and local commerce
  • You have the opportunity to work on a highly visible consumer product, making the DoorDash experience the best it can be for millions of users worldwide
  • You will partner with Product, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams to drive the discovery roadmap, measure impact of initiatives, and manage performance trends
  • You will report into the Senior Manager of Homepage on our US Marketplace team
  • Own the operational excellence of the DoorDash Homepage team, including content curation, surface optimization, and performance tracking
  • Develop and execute homepage strategy initiatives to drive user engagement & discovery on DoorDash
  • Partner with New Verticals team on driving awareness & growth of more ways to shop on DoorDash
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Analytics teams to align homepage initiatives with broader company goals and objectives
  • Ensure operational excellence by maintaining data integrity, timely reporting, and visibility into homepage projects
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization
  • Lead the ideation, prioritization, and execution of experiments to drive continuous improvement and innovation on the homepage
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to align teams with homepage objective of driving discovery (new Mx Trials)

DoorDash was an early entrant into the last-mile restaurant delivery business, which is now crowded with the likes of Uber Eats, Postmates and GrubHub. They offer restaurants an end-to-end delivery platform, generating new business and access to a network of delivery drivers.

To differentiate itself in the market, DoorDash focused on areas with fewer competitors and found success in this untapped market. Other factors, such as the company's targeting of restaurants which many not typically offer a delivery service, also contribute to its profitability. The company made its stock market debut in 2020 with one of the biggest IPOs of the year.

However, in light of increasing discontent around DoorDash's commission structure from restaurants, competition remains fierce. The business recently responded by publishing a transparent fee structure, but the number of options open to restaurants means DoorDash must fight to keep its customers loyal. Despite this, by focusing on consumer retention, logistics and technology, the company is likely able to maintain its existing growth and revenue.
