Who you are

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Communications or related fields, with a specific emphasis on enhancing employee experience and internal communications
  • Exceptional skills in writing and visual storytelling, with a proven ability to craft compelling narratives and create engaging visual content that resonates with employees

  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and relevant people programs as well as how to communicate them effectively to employees

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence People professionals & company leaders, actively listening to understand their communication needs and providing strategic guidance

What the job involves

  • Affirm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Internal Communications
  • This role is integral to our People Team and the company, responsible for overseeing the development and execution of our internal communication strategy and high profile communication programs and initiatives
  • This role requires a strategic and creative thinker and doer who can collaborate with various departments, aligning People Team communications with the company's overall messaging and branding
  • This role involves heavy stakeholder management, cross team collaboration, content curation, creating communication materials, managing internal communication channels, and measuring the effectiveness of our internal communications strategies
  • Develop and implement a company-wide internal communication strategy that promotes transparency, enhances employee engagement, and supports Affirm’s goals, values, and culture
  • Re-invent and own the company’s All Teams and AMA strategy, content curation, and successful execution and measurement of these forums
  • Partner closely with the Corporate Communications and Branding team to ensure any critical company wide communications and announcements are aligned with Affirm’s voice and branding
  • Develop and implement communication strategies and a communications calendar that support all People team programs and initiatives, ensuring timely and effective dissemination of information
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications, using metrics and feedback to continuously improve and adapt the communication strategy and tactics
  • Draft and drive internal communications materials on behalf of executives. Provide guidance to People professionals & company leaders on internal communication best practices, helping them to improve their communication skills and effectiveness
  • Develop and instill change management best practices and process to ensure appropriate parties are engaged and informed. Focused on fostering a proactive approach to incorporating change management considerations in the launch of new programs and initiatives
  • Serve as a communications partner to leaders, providing advice and mentorship that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style as well as a data-driven approach to how we communicate with Affirmers (e.g., reorgs, new programming, etc.)
  • Define what an issues management strategy looks like for personnel related issues and a system for managing those including how to engage and leverage the communications team, legal team and business units
