Role

Who you are

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the Fintech or financial services industry
  • Extensive experience in managing compliance in the EMEA region, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape
  • Experience of managing teams across multiple geographies
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing compliance teams
  • Deep knowledge of EMEA financial regulations, including AML, KYC, GDPR, and payment services regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

What the job involves

  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Head of Compliance for our EMEA region
  • Reporting to the Global Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all compliance-related matters within the EMEA region, currently incorporating (but not limited to) our operating entities in France, UAE and KSA
  • Working in close collaboration with the respective MLROs, you will ensure that our operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, while also driving a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization
  • Develop and implement the regional compliance strategy in alignment with the company's global objectives
  • Work in partnership with other Regional Heads of Compliance to ensure strategy is consistently implemented in all regions
  • Provide strategic guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices across the EMEA region
  • Ensure the company's operations in EMEA adhere to all applicable regulations, laws, and guidelines
  • Support the local MLROs in engagement with regulatory authorities within the region
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, advising the business on potential impacts and necessary actions
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the region
  • Oversee the development and implementation of compliance risk management frameworks
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and reviews to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory standards
  • Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to the EMEA region
  • Ensure consistent application and understanding of compliance policies across all regional offices
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of compliance professionals across the EMEA region
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the compliance team
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments to integrate compliance considerations into business operations
  • Provide compliance-related training and support to employees across the region
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and industry associations
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, ensuring readiness for regulatory inspections
