Who you are

  • Alexa Information and Ads is looking for an innovative, customer-obsessed BIE who has excellent technical skills, good communication skills, and is detail oriented
  • The candidate should be comfortable in conducting deep dive analyses to solve complex business problems and to build robust/automated BIE solutions
  • This position requires superior analytical abilities, good knowledge of business intelligence solutions
  • Candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving technical skills to meet business needs, possess strong attention to detail and be able to collaborate with customers to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in the data/BI space

Desirable

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

What the job involves

  • This position will be responsible for building innovative and scalable BI solutions to support a diverse set of business stakeholders
  • He/she will also be responsible for data driven decision making
  • Partner with business stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions
  • Develop queries and visualizations for both ad-hoc requests and long term projects, as well as recurrent business review reporting
  • Partner with central BIEs and Data Engineering teams to prioritize and define Alexa Information and Ads data and BI development needs
  • Work with business stakeholders, in-house scientists, global teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects
  • Own a share of admin responsibilities for the team's Analytics Solution (Redshift cluster, Quicksight account, etc.)
  • Drive key tech strategical projects for Alexa Information and Ads
  • The Alexa Information BI team helps businesses make informed decisions and increase productivity
  • We deliver scalable solutions, accurate metrics, and actionable analyses to support 15 countries where Alexa is present
  • Our solutions primarily support Alexa Information and Ads team use cases, but are reusable enough for other stakeholders to adapt to their specific needs
