Role

Who you are

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science or Business Intelligence roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, or similar
  • 1+ years of experience supporting a Procurement organization
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field
  • Ability to comprehensively understand the Source-to-Pay process
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data mining, and business intelligence tools and techniques
  • Advanced SQL & Python skills, with experience using SQL & Python to perform analysis, transform data, and build large-scale relational datasets
  • Experience with Workday tools & platforms is a plus Masterful storytelling abilities
  • Ability to lead cross functional programs, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure the highest level of quality in reports & data analysis
  • Past experience working in Consulting services focusing on procurement or supply chain
  • Experience in developing procurement-related machine learning models is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and exhibit digital dexterity in utilizing and learning new technologies

  • This role sits within the Global Procurement Office (GPO) and would report into the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, define, and clarify business requirements
  • Translate stakeholder needs into efficient reports and dashboards that provide data-driven insights
  • Leverage datasets across Workday and other applications to investigate key business trends, performance, issues, behaviors, and metrics
  • Create quarterly business reviews and communicate them to the stakeholders
  • Support and enhance the data infrastructure built using Workday Prism and Workday Reporting

Our take

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
