Who you are
- A proven track record in incident management, availability and capacity management
- Deep experience of IT infrastructure, including Cloud Technologies for SaaS providers
- To have helped an organization through ISO 22301 & ISO 27001 certifications as well as SOC2 Type II assessments
- Expertise developing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Previous experience developing and reviewing application recovery / DR plans
- In depth knowledge of IT resilience, HA, DR test strategies, backup / recovery strategies, and replication
Desirable
- Have FedRAMP compliance exposure
- Have exposure of DR Governance in internal cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and other SaaS deployments

- We are looking for a Business Resilience Director to lead the design, build, implementation and ongoing maturation of our business continuity and disaster recovery program
- We’ll need you to develop understanding and capabilities, tooling, and documentation for the programme across the organization
- The focus of the programme shall be on identifying, managing, and recovering from potential incidents impacting key business objectives and/or resources
- To do this you’ll lead the creation, updating, implementation and maturation of the Snyk Continuity Strategy, Policies, Objectives and Procedures to increase Operational Resilience
- You’ll support Snyk in its ability to adapt expediently to business disruptions, while maintaining continuous operations and safeguarding its people, assets, and customers
- You’ll also ensure an appropriate and auditable testing process for the continuity and disaster recovery of Snyk services
- Designing, implementing and executing resilience strategy within a rapidly scaling digital organization utilizing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies
- Leveraging your proven track record to support the roadmap for (primarily) Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Operational Resilience as part of the GRC/Trust team
- Implementing and maturing continuity policies across Snyk
- Being Snyk’s Business Continuity Specialist, technical liaison, and primary contact for business continuity planning and response
- Developing and maintaining Business Impact Assessments & Business Continuity Plans
- Regularly reporting on operational resilience status to leadership
- Effectively managing identified resilience risks across the business
- Carrying out organization wide training, education and championing the program management
- Supporting Third Party Management (TPM) with resiliency reviews and help create the conditions for the firm to conduct BC exercises with key third parties
Our take
Open source software is a highly lucrative market and is growing fast. However, open source components can come with vulnerabilities, and so their widespread use in apps becomes a liability to a company’s cybersecurity. Snyk has built a way to detect when those apps or components are compromised.
The company works with developers, who are now commonly the owners of application security. It integrates into existing developer workflows, compatible with the likes of GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab, as well as CI/CD. Snyk also varies its approach with enterprises depending on their security needs, working on-premises, via the cloud or a hybrid. This puts the company in a strong position to target all enterprises as customers. In this, Snyk has already been successful - it has hundreds of customers, including Google and Salesforce.
Valued at $8.5bn back in 2021, Snyk has lately been focused on growth and platform improvement. It is not alone in the space, with competitors including SonarQube and Veracode, but has nonetheless remained one of the largest market players; raising funds in 2023 that come alongside an integration with ServiceNow, to further bolster the value of its offerings.
