Role

Who you are

  • 5+ years as Technical Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer
  • You love solving technical challenges no matter where they come from and what form they take
  • You wont need coding skills, but you should have in-depth technical understanding of a wide variety of technologies
  • You should be able to translate customer requirements to technical documentation and solutions design
  • You are a teacher and 100% customer centric: You will be figuring out how to connect two worlds and systems that don’t always want to fit together. You help overcome any obstacle and are pivotal to closing deals - the more languages you speak, the better
  • Proficient with integration tools (APIs, SOAP, REST, etc.) and internal tools used daily. Comfortable with writing JavaScript expressions and making tweaks to complex scripts
  • You are customer obsessed, and understand the complexities of product integrations for SMB and Enterprise customers
  • You have strong project management experience and have managed multiple complex enterprise projects from inception to completion
  • You thrive in complexity, ambiguity and unknowns. You are unafraid to ask questions and challenge the status quo. You have the right intuition, but back your ideas up with data
  • You are an excellent communicator, and know how to influence up, down and across the organization
  • You have strong knowledge of APIs, integrations, and SSO/SCIM

What the job involves

  • You will be the technical owner of our customer integrations for our UK customers
  • You will build the foundation for a long term relationship with Choco and the distributor landscape, working with software engineers, product managers and sales team and interacting regularly with our key clients
  • You drive technical conversations with our key customers on the supplier side in order to understand how their systems work
  • You will support the discovery, implementation and roll-out phases of key integration projects
  • Takes full ownership of designing and building integrations between the Choco platform and the ERPs of our customers
  • Can work on complex designs or highly customized integrations. Participates in pre-sales meetings helping customers understand how our platform works
  • Contributes to the broader organization by providing feedback and insights from customers to improve product and processes

Our take

The restaurant industry has seen vast technological innovations throughout the last decade, yet the state of supply chain ordering and administration does not reflect this. Restaurants are still using archaic paperwork to order from suppliers, and this has the tendency to become clunky, inaccurate, and result in food waste. Choco exists to improve this situation by connecting restaurants and suppliers through its food ecosystem management software.

Choco isn't the only company to notice the potential for disruption in this space, but it has taken a unique approach by providing bespoke inventory applications and analytical tools to both restaurants and suppliers. It has a large and rapidly growing userbase and its supply chain now links more than 30,000 businesses, with more than £1.2 billion in goods traded on its platform.

Choco raised large amounts of capital in several funding rounds and achieved unicorn status with a valuation exceeding $1 billion. It has eyes on expansion, currently working with clients across the U.S. and Europe but planning to begin operations in South America, the Middle East, and Asia in the near future.
