What the job involves

  • Following our receipt of government designations allowing us to perform conformity assessments for software and AI medical devices in the UK and Europe, we are now scaling our team of Software Safety Assessors
  • Whilst our existing team continues to develop Version 2 of our proprietary assessment tooling, we're hiring more Software Safety Assessors to perform assessments on the next wave of cutting-edge Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
  • Perform swift and accurate assessments of bleeding-edge SaMD products
  • Immerse yourself in the relevant standards for SaMD
  • Develop a rich understanding of the common risks associated with software and AI medical devices
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of software, AI and clinical experts to ensure software medical devices are safe and effective

Software is rapidly taking centre stage in the development of new medical technology. However the approach used to certify new solutions was optimised for hardware rather than software, restricting patient access to innovation. This is what health tech compliance company Scarlet is solving.

After working closely with regulators, Scarlet has received the key designations that allow them to certify medical software, and do so in a software-focused way. This makes for a much more efficient process, and caters to the frequent updates inherent to good software. It means new products can be updated and released often, ensuring patients can safely get the most up-to-date technology.
