Who you are

  • Amazon is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and savvy PR professional for the role of Public Relations Manager, EU Customer Trust
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate PR strategies, recommendations, and plans to both peers and executives, drive collaborative decisions, build relationships internally and externally, and deliver results
  • She/he will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines, will be able to juggle numerous priorities on tight deadlines, and will be an organized and thoughtful leader
  • The ideal candidate will have strong PR experience, a track record of successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results, media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories and managing issues and reactive storylines, and a strong ability to collaborate across numerous counterparts and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years of public relations experience

  • Several years of Retail PR experience
  • The ability to dive deep and understand how to position complex concepts clearly for maximum news value
  • Track record of developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges
  • The ability to concisely and effectively express your point of view
  • A knack for diplomacy and the confidence to engage and build consensus with leaders at all levels
  • Crisis communications and issues management chops
  • Combination of in-house and agency PR experience with global reach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to understand and work with complex concepts
  • Very strong attention to detail and strong organizational/program management skills
  • Experience in writing and evolving clear messaging and plans

What the job involves

  • The person who fills this role will lead communications and PR support throughout the EU for customer trust-related topics as part of the Selling Partner Services (SPS) Communications team
  • This role will work cross-functionally with numerous teams and stakeholders—such as peers and leaders in PR/Communications, Public Policy, Legal, and the SPS business—to successfully strategize and execute proactive storytelling and support reactive inquiry and issues management in support of customer trust narrative
  • Additionally, this role will work with a range of media contacts throughout the EU
  • Lead PR strategy and execution for customer trust topics and announcements throughout the EU
  • Provide counsel to executives and cross-functional teams on PR strategies, approaches, and messaging
  • Support the management of reactive customer trust-related issues in collaboration with counterparts, including advising on key messaging
  • Write and evolve messaging and talking points for press interviews, press inquiries, FAQs, and the overall customer trust narrative
  • Build, guide, and execute PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals
  • Drive and/or review owned content such as blogs and social media posts
  • Develop and manage relationships with a range of top-tier media contacts
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively
  • Help manage a third-party agency to support PR activities
  • Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson
