Who you are

  • The ideal candidate has a background in business and engineering and is keen to create and execute on GTM strategies that speak to engineers building search, analytics and AI applications

What the job involves

  • Work with PMM and executive leadership on the messaging, positioning, personas and GTM strategies of Rockset
  • Be the GTM expert internally and externally, developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and the search and AI ecosystem
  • Develop GTM strategies that have a measurable impact on the business
  • Lead competitive analysis, learn about competitive technologies, their customer pain points and how they go-to-market to successfully capture the search and AI market
  • Develop an understanding of the role of the engineer and architect in building search, analytics and AI applications and create tailored GTM strategies and content to address their requirements and challenges
  • Create high-quality content, including reference architectures, podcasts, case studies and tech talks that drive engagement with engineers
  • Devise sales enablement programs, ensuring that both account executives and sales engineers are well-versed in new products and how they impact technical customers and prospects

Rockset provides a means for uniform data analysis querying through a cloud-based platform. The platform allows users to utilize a suite of modular cloud-based services to build real-time dashboards and data-intensive applications. These applications can be used to analyze any form of data through basic SQL querying, including the analysis of semi-structured, time series, and geographical data sets.

With plenty of automated data analysis tools on the market, Rockset has found a way to stand out by facilitating the creation of custom dashboards for bespoke data analysis setups. The company developed the dashboard with hopes that it could help developers spend less time figuring out how to interpret variations of raw data and more time using the insights gained.

Having raised significant funding and displaying impressive growth, Rockset continued to triple revenue and double its customer base year-over-year. The company showed no signs of stopping as it moved further to improve its services, before its acquisition by OpenAI, which will see its technology integrated into the OpenAI product suite. This marks a new chapter for Rockset, and OpenAI's enterprise model business will certainly benefit from Rockset's data analysis tools. Rockset will benefit long-term from being OpenAI's first acquisition, a testament to the startup's success to date.

Venkat started their career with over 5 years at Oracle, before spending 8 years at Facebook. They left their Engineering Director Position in September 2015 to co-found Rockset a year later.

Having studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bhruba worked in Software for the CDOT, IBM, Oreceipt, and Veritas Software. After roles at Yahoo! and Facebook for a combined decade, they co-founded Rockset in September 2016.
